E3 2019 Interview: Edelweiss on Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin
We chat with the two-person team on their second project.
07.07.19 - 2:55 PM

Edelweiss made a name for themselves with the impressive mecha shooter Astebreed (now on Windows and Switch), and we've been following their second project for a few years now. Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is an interesting hybrid game, blending side-scrolling action RPG elements with farming simulation. Conceptually, it's not entirely unlike the classic Quintet game ActRaiser (and Ace Team's upcoming SolSeraph), but Sakuna has an undeniable level of charm and polish. We've seen it at E3 before, and each year it looks better. With a release finally likely this winter, we talked to team Edelweiss — Director Nal and CG Artist Koichi — about the process behind the game and what we can expect to see once we get to play the game.

Check out the full interview, and as always, keep checking RPGFan as we learn more about Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin!
