Square Enix is teaming up with Sony Pictures Television and Hivemind Entertainment.

Final Fantasy XIV is going live-action! And no, we aren't talking about the father and son drama Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light, but a full blown series set in the world of Eorzea!
Square Enix is partnering with Sony Pictures Television and Hivemind Entertainment (The Witcher TV series, The Expanse) to make the series a reality. The live-action series is said to follow "the struggle between magic and technology in a quest to bring peace to a land in conflict." The usual Final Fantasy elements will be part of the series, including chocobos, airships, magitek and a Cid.
Not much else is known about the project. No network or release date was revealed, but check back at RPGFan as we learn more! In the meantime, the latest expansion of Final Fantasy XIV, Shadowbringers, launches on July 2nd.
