Coming This Week, 5/6/19
Spring into, well, an assortment of games.
05.06.19 - 11:39 PM

It's the beginning of another spring week, and here we are with a new batch of games to talk about. It looks like May 9th is going to be a big release day, so it's pretty exciting stuff. I'm going to try and take inspiration from some of our very active protagonists this week and spend some time outside (maybe at the batting cages) and socializing. Hopefully. Maybe? We'll see. At any rate, here are the details.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 - May 9th (Windows)

It's an all-out dragon battle when Yakuza Kiwami 2 lands on PC this Thursday. Grab this lovely updated version of the second entry in the series while you can; help the Dragon of Dojima as he is forced back into the yakuza life after a period of relative peace. Finally, PC users can play this entry with all the spiffy updates and use of the Dragon game engine. Enjoy that extra Majima backstory!

Life is Strange 2 - Episode 3: Wastelands - May 9th (PS4, XB1, Windows)

It's time to join Sean and Daniel once more for the latest chapter of Life is Strange 2. We're hoping everyone is emotionally ready for this. More tough decisions and emotionally charged exploits await the two brothers (and now their extended family...gulp). We've got the scoop on the previous episodes, and are eagerly awaiting more. Look for a review on this latest one soon, as well.

Battle Brothers - Warriors of the North DLC - May 9th (Windows)

If SRPGs and running a band of misfit mercenaries is more your speed, we have Warriors of the North, an expansive DLC for Battle Brothers. We reviewed the original in 2017, to give some context. Now there's an entire new Northern area for you to make your fortune in, along with new starting scenarios. It's a rough life being a mercenary in a decrepit fantasy world.

Masquerada: Songs and Shadows Screenshot

Masquerada: Songs and Shadows - May 9th (Switch)

I don't mind saying that I'm personally excited about another way to play Masquerada: Songs and Shadows — it'll help me meet my daily quota of intrigue and beautiful Venetian-inspired settings. And what's not to like about a world of magic masks and wielding power through song and dance? Take a look at our review and discover this world for yourselves on Switch this Thursday.

And thus ends this week's chapter in upcoming games. What a lineup! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to keep checking RPGFan for all the news, reviews, and more that you could want.
