Dragon Quest XI S Receives a Retro Inspired Mode, Additional Story and More
The definitive edition offers a trip back through time. 03.18.19 - 11:25 PM Square Enix revealed that Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age will include several new features including a 16-bit 2D mode (previously exclusive to the Japan-only 3DS version), additional story content, and voiced dialogue. Check out the contrast between the two modes below. 2D Mode 3D Mode The additional story content has the other party members take over the protagonist's role. Each characters will have their own quest centered around expanding their storylines. When playing as the default protagonist, the party members will now be visible in the overworld following along. Two additional new features revealed include voiced dialogue and the Japanese cast behind the characters. The English version will also come with the feature to toggle between the Japanese and English voices. The Japanese cast is as follows:
