Mike Salbato
Twitch Sunday and More: Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross
Go back in time to 1995 and then forward to 1999.
02.02.19 - 7:12 PM

Having finally finished his streaming of Final Fantasy XII, Scott's next major endeavor will be to stream all of Chrono Cross on Twitch. But before he gets to that, he figured he may as well being with the original game: Chrono Trigger.

Hailed by many a Mike Salbato as the best RPG of the 16-bit era (and beyond), Chrono Trigger's status as a classic must-play RPG has been firmly in place since it launched in 1995. An impossible combination of talents saw the masterminds behind both Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest collaborate on a game, along with Akira Toriyama's art and Yasunori Mitsuda's legendary score. Considering Square and Enix were separate companies at the time, it was even more of an unbelievable occurrence of the stars aligning, the likes of which may never happen again.

Also, there's a frog knight and flying time machine, so, really, what's not to love? Stop by our Twitch channel this Sunday at 10am PST/1pm EST to watch! In theory, Scott may continue Chrono Trigger on his usual days, but on the good chance he finishes the game in a single sitting, he'll then move on to its (second-ish) sequel, Chrono Cross. See the schedule for details!
