New Details Revealed For Ys IX: Monstrum Nox
What does the newest entry have in store? 12.28.18 - 10:12 PM During an interview in this week's Famitsu magazine, Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo revealed a slew of new details regarding the newest entry in their hit action RPG series, Ys IX, which had been recently revealed. The newest entire's full title will be Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, which translates to night of monsters, the main concept of the game. Taking place after Ys Seven, protagonist Adol will be at his oldest and wisest, acquiring some fame and notoriety after his previous adventures. Players will explore Barduke, a three-dimensional city with a large focus on elevation. The outskirts of Barduke will also be explorable, featuring ruins, forests, grasslands, and many more locales that fans of the series have come to love. Combat wise, Ys IX will function similar to previous entries, with the exception of added "Superpower Actions," which stem from the supernatural powers throughout the city. These new actions will grant Adol and the party exciting new abilities, such as being able to run on walls, or travel as shadows. A new "Guild Management" system will be added, which will function as an upgraded version of the castaway village from Ys VIII. And, most excitingly, Ys IX is currently 50% done! Hopefully we'll be getting even more news in the coming months! Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is set to release in 2019 for the PlayStation 4 in Japan.
