Dragon Quest Builders 2 Gets Japanese Demo on December 6th
Plus tons of new info on the game's Bulletin Board feature! 11.15.18 - 10:40 PM Square Enix announced several new details about the upcoming Dragon Quest Builders 2! As previously reported, Square Enix is planning on a demo for Dragon Quest Builders 2 for Japan. And now we know a release date! The demo will be available in Japan on both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on December 6th. Multiplayer will not be available in the demo version. Here's hoping we'll see the demo in the West as well! During the game's Builders School Multiplayer Party broadcast, several new gameplay elements were discussed, one of which being the Bulletin Board. Similar to photo modes in other games, Bulletin Board allows for players to take the perfect screenshot by adjusting the camera angle, shadow length, focus, and other parameters. These images can then be given captions, tagged, and shared between players no matter if they are playing on PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch. On a larger scale, the Bulletin Board will be ranked by Overall Ranking, Daily Ranking, and Tag-Specific Ranking. The feature will also offer contests for the more creative players. Even load times will be littered with various screenshots from other players! On the building side of things, players now have the chance to copy blueprints of objects discovered throughout their travels. The Builder Pencil allows players to keep up to four blueprints of any object they scan, including large buildings. Lastly, Square Enix revealed the game's world map, shown above. The islands include Occulm Island, Vacant Island, Monzola Island, and smaller Material Islands known as Tufty Island and Sodden Island. The player customized island, Vacant Island, can be viewed and visited by players from both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions of the game. Dragon Quest Builders 2 releases on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on December 20th. America and Europe receive the game sometime in 2019.
