Dragon Quest XI, since dropping, has garnered near-universal praise, and following its PS4 release in the West, new information has been revealed at the 2018 Tokyo Game Show about the Switch port. The Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will be titled Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S, with distinct meaning behind the single letter change.
Yuji Horii, creator of the Dragon Quest series, has stated that the S in the title means four distinct things: Switch (for the console), Special, Shaberu (a Japanese word that means 'to speak'), and Seiyuu (the Japanese word for voice actor).
No specific launch date was given for the Nintendo Switch, with Horii stating that this version of the game would still take a little time before its eventual release. Hopefully, a portable version of this seminal JRPG will be available posthaste. I know I'd enjoy Dragon Quest on the go!
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is available in the West on PlayStation 4 and PC, with the 3DS version available only in Japan. Stay tuned to RPGFan for all news Dragon Quest!
