Get ready to catch a lot of new details for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Nintendo explained a lot of the new features for the games, including an explanation on its connectivity with Pokémon GO.
But first, a new trailer!
The Pokémon you catch in Pokémon GO have a brand new life ahead of them in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! You can import up to 1,000 Pokémon, 50 of each being stored across 20 GO Parks. Also, you aren't limited by your user account: friends and family are able to import their Pokémon with just a single save file.
Pokémon are transferred between the two games via Bluetooth Low Energy technology. However, transferring Pokémon is a one-way gate; you won't be able to transfer your Pokémon back to Pokémon GO. But transferring will provide rewards in Pokémon Go as well, so it isn't completely one-sided.
Next up, training your Pokémon! Though you can import your Pokémon from Pokémon Go, you need to catch them within the GO Park in order to bring them into Kanto. Catching 25 of a specific Pokémon opens up a herding mini-game to earn various candies. Candies come in several varieties, each one offering a boost to different stats. Some are even exclusive to certain Pokémon. Besides playing games in the Play Yard of GO Parks, you can send Pokémon to Professor Oak for studying, and he will give you candies in exchange. Taking your Pokémon on walks using the Poké Ball Plus also lands you some bonus candies.
Lastly, Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! offer players the chance to capture several Legendary Pokémon, such as Articuno, Moltres, and Zapados. In order to capture them, you must defeat them in battle. Remember, if you get the Poké Ball Plus, you automatically get Mew! Also, players are able to acquire Aloan variants through importing and trade.
