Has it really been 23 years since the last Romancing SaGa game?

Earlier this week at Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix revealed two new entries in their classic Romancing SaGa series, one a remaster of the cult classic Romancing SaGa 3, the other a brand-new title for mobile platforms!
The remake of Romancing SaGa 3 is set to release in early 2019 in Japan for the PlayStation 4, Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation Vita, PC, and iOS and Android devices. No plans for a western release have been announced, but after the success of Romancing SaGa 2 in the west, I'd be surprised if we didn't see a release over here!
The mobile title, which is called Romancing SaGa Re: Universe, will be a brand new entry in the Romancing SaGa series. Taking place 300 years after the end of Romancing SaGa 3, Universe promises to feature characters from the previous games in new and interesting ways. No official release date has been given, but the game will release for free on iOS and Android devices, with available in-app purchases. No news on a western release has been announced.
