Nintendo Submits New Trademark Application for Golden Sun
Coincidence? 09.13.18 - 11:26 AM Rumors continue to swirl about the likelihood of Golden Sun's Isaac finally appearing in this fall's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. With Smash's papa Masahiro Sakurai tweeting things like this and casually pointing out the convenient re-appearance of Nintendo's Golden Sun: Dark Dawn page, it's hard to see the building teases as anything but near-confirmation, because it's a bit too much for simple trolling. Adding even more credence to all of this, website Japanese Nintendo today is pointing out that Nintendo of Japan has updated the trademark for Golden Sun: So where does that leave us? Mostly with a mounting pile of questions. Would Nintendo update a trademark just to include Isaac in Smash? Why re-upload the Dark Dawn site? Maybe Dark Dawn will be made available in digital format. And even though we'd like to speculate that we finally see a new game in the series, it's been 8 years since Dark Dawn, so we don't want to get our hopes up prematurely. In any case, last week's delayed Nintendo Direct airs today at 3pm PDT/6pm PDT, so we'll keep our fingers crossed! Thanks to former RPGFan Music Managing Editor and current game, manga, and Isaac enthusiast Stephen Meyerink for the tip.
