inXile has revealed a new spot-light combat trailer for their upcoming The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep, the newest installment in the long running series. inXile Entertainment has had a stellar few years when it comes to the RPG genre (I'm staring at you, Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera), and The Bard's Tale IV seems to be keeping that momentum going. You can conveniently watch the combat footage below to see if you agree:
The trailer gives a solid overview of what to expect from the game's turn-based combat system. Each adventurer will come with a suite of passive and active abilities, many of which can combo with other members of the party which means keeping everyone alive can reap major benefits. As such party positioning in battle will prove to vital to survival. There are also charge attacks which can be used to finish off enemies and inXile claims there is a ton more to look forward to experimenting with upon The Bard's Tale IV's release this fall.

The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep will release on PC September 18th, and will make its way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Mac, and Linux sometime after.
