Twitch Sunday & More: Septerra Core, Lufia II, Star Ocean: Till The End of Time
Lots of new old games in the lineup! 08.25.18 - 10:49 PM It's going to be an exciting week of new, but also old games on Twitch! We have both a new Sunday stream to cover, and the start of two full playthroughs also beginning this week. Sunday brings a somewhat obscure late 90s PC RPG to the spotlight, and later in the week we'll see an SNES classic and PS2 game (usually) set in space. Sunday: Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator A PC RPG hailing from 1999, Septerra Core looked like it had a lot of Final Fantasy VII influence on teenage me, at least in terms of the art style. I wasn't into PC gaming, so I missed this one at the time. Despite the developer Valkyrie Studios fading away after release, Septerra Core lives on, and is available on Steam and GOG.com for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Kyle went through great pains getting Septerra Core working with our streaming setup, because he really wants to present this one to you all. So he's streaming it this Sunday at 10am PDT/1pm EDT. Mondays: Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals Lufia II sometimes gets a fair shake, but is also often overlooked. Ask the right people, and you'll find this prequel to Lufia discussed in the same hallowed voice as that of Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Final Fantasy VI, and other well-known 16-bit classics. Beloved by everyone I know who has played it, Lufia II was even a trendsetter, using a "Rise of the..." subtitle before it became commonplace in all media 20 years later. Katherine is a huge fan of the 16-bit era, and she's been anxious to debut this one. Having finished Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth this past week, she will start Lufia II this Monday, August 27th at 3pm PDT/6pm EDT, streaming every week until she finishes it. Tuesdays: Star Ocean: Till The End of Time Wrapping up the Twitch debuts this week, Kyle is tackling what would have been the second-to-last game in the Star Ocean series, had it not lived on with the likes of Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness (if you can call this living). Buuuut we're not here to lament the later Star Ocean games, but to enjoy this PS2 classic. Come by Twitch every week starting this Tuesday, August 28th at 2:30pm PDT/5:30pm EDT and join Kyle until the End of As always, this is all happening on our Twitch channel, so come and hang out in chat as we play each game! |
