Earlier this month, action-RPG fans were abuzz with the announcement that a new installment in the Torchlight series would grace us in 2019. And to whet your appetite, publisher Perfect World Entertainment and developer Echtra Games have released a gameplay reveal trailer, which you can conveniently view below:
According to a statement from publisher Perfect World Entertainment, Torchlight Frontiers is indeed set in the same universe as the previous installments in the franchise (Torchlight I and II) and will bring back plenty of familiar mechanics from those earlier titles. Perhaps more important (especially for ARPG aficionados) is the knowledge that the development team is being led by Max Shaefer, former Blizzard North and then Runic games co-founder. What's more, the development team is apparently flush with genre veterans, as many have worked previously on the Diablo and Torchlight franchises. All of this is news most wondrous indeed.
Torchlight Frontiers will release sometime in 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
