IGN today broke the news that GungHo – responsible for the 2015 release of Grandia II Anniversary Edition on PC – is bringing both that game and an updated version of the original Grandia to Nintendo Switch. Additionally, Grandia HD Remaster (this may or may not be the final name) will join Grandia II on Steam.
Since the Anniversary Edition gave us a polished version of the Dreamcast classic that people liked (see our reviews, linked below), we can't wait to see how the original game gets updated. After all, the first release of Grandia was in 1997 on the Sega Saturn.
Neither the Steam or Switch versions have release dates yet, but a demo of Grandia II HD Remaster will be playable at PAX West, which takes place August 31-September 3 in Seattle.
