Fight the cold and eldritch within the Deadfire!

Publisher Versus Evil and developer Obsidian Entertainment have released the first of three expansion pack DLC's for Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, titled Beast of Winter.
The expansion pack tells a story set within the southernmost reaches of the Deadfire Archipelago where players, as the Watcher, must sojourn to answer a missive sent from the worshippers of Rymrgrand, a god of death and entropy. Check out the trailer for the Beast of Winter below!
Alongside this expansion, an update patch has been released, bringing the build of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire to 2.0, titled The Deck of Many Things. Applying bug fixes and balance improvements, the patch will also bring challenge modes to the Deadfire, as well as a mysterious merchant vessel bringing magical artifacts from the East of the world.
Beast of Winter is available for $9.99 (USD) and is free for those who purchased a DLC Season Pass or the Obsidian Edition of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. Personally, I think the world of Eora and the Deadfire Archipelago are brilliant locales to lose yourself in, and more expansions upon that in both gameplay and narrative are a welcome addition.
