Independent games publisher Digerati has announced that 1979 Revolution: Black Friday will be releasing on Nintendo Switch along with the previously announced Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game at the end of July.

1979 Revolution

Developed by iNK Stories, the game is written and directed by industry veteran and Rockstar Games alum Navid Khonsari, and allows players to steep themselves in the turbulent real-world events of the Iranian uprising. Raised in Iran, Khonsari left the county with his family following the revolution. The game has raised the ire of Iranian officials, with some referring to the game as 'pro-American propaganda,' leading to sales of the game being banned and Khonsari being accused as a U.S. spy. While those claims have no merit, 1979 Revolution has been met with sweeping critical praise for its documentary style of gameplay/storytelling and has accrued a great many accolades since its release on PC.

1979 Revolution: Black Friday releases on PlayStation 4 on July 31st in North America and August 1st in Europe, on Nintendo Switch on August 2nd, and on Xbox One on August 3rd. The game is currently available on PC.
