The Watcher has been beckoned to sojourn the Archipelago once again.

The veteran RPG studio Obsidian has announced that the first of three DLC expansions for their hit game Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will release on August 2nd. The expansion is titled Beast of Winter, and it will bring the Watcher and his party to the southernmost reaches of the Deadfire Archipelago at the request of the worshipers of Rymrgand, the god of cold and decay. They believe the Watcher is the harbinger of the end, and have beckoned him to fulfill that promise.
Beast of Winter will launch alongside the game's 2.0 update which will include balance and bug fixes as well as the biggest free DLC update in The Deck of Many Things: a merchant ship with many a magical item to sell from its travels in the East.
