Happy 8th of July!!!
07.08.18 - 11:12 PM

Ok, maybe we are 4 days too late for the 4th of July, but it doesn't mean you still can't celebrate this weekend as well! I mean, they are still shooting fireworks off where I live, so why not? And if you don't live in the United States, you could still celebrate anyway if you choose. I know I'll be celebrating all the way until Octopath Traveler next weekend. This week we have news stories from John Alas and Peter Triezenberg, a review from Rob Rogan, and our full E3 coverage all in a nice little package all for you guys.

So E3 might have ended a few weeks ago, but if you have been checking the site out, we have still been releasing a few hands-on impressions and a few more pieces from our attendees at E3. They are now completely done, and it can be kind of hard to access them all with the news and reviews on the site, so we put all of them in a nice little space like we usually do for our readers. If you missed anything from E3 2018, then feel free to check it out.

Shenmue is one of those series that is beloved by many. Many hours have been spent looking for sailors, playing lucky hit, and collecting all those capsules. And now (finally) many more people will be able to play these games with Shenmue 1 & 2 getting an HD Collection. A perfect stopgap for fans of the series as we wait for Shenmue 3.

XSEED brings us excellent news this week as they announce the release dates for the PC versions of Ys: Memories of Celceta and Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity. So whether you love running around a giant forest collecting Adol's memories or trying to live through a bullet hell game as an anime character, they have you covered this July.

Story by John Alas

There were a lot of mixed reactions in regards to the recent Secret of Mana remake. It just didn't seem to capture the same magic of the original, but it was still a decent and fun version of the game. Well, the developers behind it are now getting the chance to make their own original action RPG title for the PlayStation 4 and Switch since it seemed the remake did pretty well financially. I know I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this one.

Review by Rob Rogan

It's really nice to see the Switch get ports since it felt like, for the last two generations of consoles, this was never the case for Nintendo. This week Rob Rogan has his review of Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory for the Nintendo Switch, which has a lot of additions from last year's release. Check out his review to see if this definitive version really did rise to glory.
