E3 2018: Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Screenshots Look Better Than Ever
Who would have thought beating up big fish and making rice would be so pretty?

Some of us at RPGFan can't get enough of Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. Part side-scrolling action RPG, part rice-tending sim, this is the second E3 in which XSEED has showcased the game from Edelweiss, the makers of the acclaimed shooter Astebreed.

At E3 2017, we got a feel for the combat, but this time we were able to spend time with the rice farming mechanics, and they're... well, Alana will tell you about them later. I'll just say it's fun and will definitely be a good go-to game for stress relief, the way it's shaping up.

For now, let's check out a quick comparison to see how Sakuna has evolved in a year. Below we have two farmhouse interiors. On the left is from 2017, and on the right is a 2018 build:

Not bad, huh? The copious amount of extra detail on the interior really add a lot to the decor. It gives the farm a more lived-in feel, and the updated lighting just makes me feel warm and fuzzy. But if you think the interiors look good, check out at these environments:

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC this winter.
