Publisher Versus Evil and independent developer Stoic have announced that Banner Saga 2, their Nordic-influenced strategy-RPG sequel, is launching on the Nintendo Switch on June 7th.

Banner Saga 2 tells the continuing story of a clan that must continue through both the grief of losing those close to them and the environment that continually punishes them for their travel. Steeped in hand-drawn tactical combat, Banner Saga 2 also allows players to inhabit the role of a new race, known as the horse-born, four-legged and giving a wrinkle to the existing narrative.

Referencing the launch of The Banner Saga on the Nintendo Switch, Steve Escalante, Versus Evil's General Manager, had nothing but kind words about both The Banner Saga series and the Nintendo Switch, saying that "...there has never been a better time to get into this award-winning series..." and that the portability of the Nintendo Switch is "...truly a joy, allowing you to play whenever and wherever you can."

As it stands, The Banner Saga as a whole is a nuanced affair and personally, players could do a lot worse than picking these titles up for the Nintendo Switch. Banner Saga 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, mobile devices and will release on Nintendo Switch on June 7th. The final series entry, Banner Saga 3 will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac on July 24th.
