Square Enix revealed some Dragon Quest Builders 2 story information and adventuring details in the latest issue of Weekly Jump magazine. The building RPG spinoff will variety of changes from it's predecessor.
The protagonist starts their journey washed up ashore on Vacant Island and soon hears a mysterious voice telling them to head up a mountain. Once atop the mountain, the protagonist discovers a stone monument engraved with five mysterious crests whose purpose is a mystery. Nearby are several stone pillars engraved with trials. Passing these trials is key to becoming a "Master Builder".
Additional ways to explore the world will be provided including the ability to swim underwater, gliding with the wind mantle, and dashing. Among the new environmental features are waterfalls and diagonally shaped blocks.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned to RPGFan for more updates on the Dragon Quest series!
