Koei Tecmo released a trailer for the upcoming Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Painting showing some of the characters and battle techniques players will have at their disposal. See the trailer below.
In addition to the protagonists Lydie and Suelle, we see the girl's father Roger, and the playable characters: prince of Adelett; Matthias, young alchemist Alt, protagonist of Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, Sophie and protagonist of Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey, Firis.
The battle techniques include powerful combination attacks where any two characters combine their abilities for a devastating move, allowing for dozens of possibilities between the six party members. One of the most notable new features is the ability to synthesize mid-battle using Battle Mix and Extra Mix. Battle Mix allows the characters to enhance weapons and change the battlefield while Extra Mix enhances pre-synthesized items such as bombs, turning them into more powerful weapons, including Enormous Bombs with a wider attack radius and stronger blast.
Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Painting is due for release on PlayStation 4, PC and Switch on March 27th, 2018. Stay tuned for more updates on the Atelier series and its 20th anniversary!
