It's almost a little odd writing about this article now, in December. Nick's piece here wasn't the first idea we had for Fabula Nova Anniversaris, but it was the first article to be completed. And that made me happy, because it served to inspire everyone else: It's a touching tale about a very specific aspect of Final Fantasy XV. The care he put into this article became a beacon of motivation in regards to what we wanted to accomplish with this feature.

This isn't the place to discuss FFXV's merits or flaws, but it's safe to say there have been a wide range of opinions on the game since its release a year ago. It didn't do everything right, but I Love You, Man: Exploring Platonic Love in Final Fantasy XV discusses an important part of the game the developers really nailed, and it's something fairly unprecedented in the JRPG.

I know I say all these things are required reading, but that's only because they are.
