XSEED and Falcom have launched the PC port for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel via Steam, GOG.com and the Humble Store.

The game itself, released on Vita and PS3 in 2013, is a standalone story set within the same universe as the Trails in the Sky games, telling an alternative story set within the oft- mentioned Erebonian Empire, as players undertake and live the story of Class VII, a group of hand-picked students, set to fighting and training to become an elite military squad.

Ken Berry, Executive Vice President at Marvelous USA, spoke highly of the XSEED localisation stating that he was "pleased to introduce another remarkable Nihon Falcom JRPG" to the PC market. He also stated that fans of the franchise could look forward to the fact that Marvelous USA, and XSEED are "…hard at work to bring more Japanese gems to PC, including Trails of Cold Steel II."

Lastly, as a bonus, a launch trailer for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel was also released, detailing a host of improvements including improved graphics, and, arguably the biggest addition, over 5000 recorded voiced lines not present in the initial release. Check it out below!

Personally, as having never touched any of the Trails series, this PC port gives a little gusto under my wings to sink my teeth into what it has to offer. It looks dang stylish, too!
