The Witcher series developer CD Projekt Red announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Blood and Wine expansion pack has won the award for Best Role-Playing Game at this year's Game Awards ceremony. The critically acclaimed expansion pack was inspired by the add-on disc format from previous generations prompting the developers to make significant additions to the main game.
Blood and Wine won additional awards over the past year including Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design at the Golden Joystick Awards, while Doug Cockle, voice of Geralt of Rivia in the English version of the game won the Best Gaming Performance award. Finally, CD Projekt Red was awarded Studio of the Year.
