Square Enix has released a story trailer for the 3DS re-release of the excellently traditional RPG, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.
The trailer showcases many of the colorful (both in personality and visuals) characters, including King Trode, an eccentric king who's been turned into a troll; and Jessica, a mage propelled by revenge. The trailer does a good job of conveying the expansive size of the world, and the breathtaking sense of an epic journey that is absent from many modern RPGs. Check it out below!
Dragon Quest VIII originally released for the PS2 over a decade ago, and it looks like technology has advanced far enough that Square Enix can do an admirable job of bringing its visually rich and adorable art style to a portable console — the game looks great. Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King releases for 3DS in North America and Europe on January 20th.
