What you can look forward to at the beginning of 2017.

Spike Chunsoft has released tons of new information for the upcoming New Danganronpa V3: Everyone's New Semester of Killing. It includes story details, bios on the characters Kiibo, Gonta, Shuuichi, Tsumugi and Monosuke, a new character trailer, new class trials, and the limited edition Super Danganronpa V 2.5 anime.
The story begins with the government implementing a special encourage system called the 'Gift System', granting privileges to 'Super High School Level' students showing great potential. Main character Kaede Akamatsu, a 'Super High School Level Pianist' is part of this exclusive group.
One day the "Super High School Level" students were all brought together, only to be trapped in the 'Academy for Gifted Prisoners' A stuffed toy named Monokuma is the school's self-proclaimed headmaster and it's children, named the Monokuma's are in charge of the administration. Monokuma Reveals that the school is used as a battleground for the talented students to fight tot the death in a mutual killing game.
The academy is surrounded by a large wall, making it impossible to escape and leaving mutual killing as the only option. To stop the mutual killing, a curtain is lifted on a class trial where both lies and truth are prevalent.
Moving to the new character details, we start with Kiibo, a robot equipped with high functioning "Growth AI", allowing him to learn much like a human would and subsequently being able to attend high school and acquire the title of 'Super High School Level Student" He has a serious and polite personality but won't tolerate discriminatory remarks towards robots. Like other robots his robotic speech sometimes estranges people in conversation and he is teased about this by Oma.
Next we have Gonta Gokuhara, an entomologist that got lost in the forest as a boy and took 10 years to return to his parents. During that time he was raised by wolves and gained the ability to talk to animals and insects. He is a very 'gentlemanly' person and aims to repay those who raised him. However, he has a limited level of education that sometimes leaves him unable to relate to other students.
Shuuichi Saihara is a young detective apprentice assisting his uncle in running his detective agency. While many of the jobs coming are smaller cases such as extra-marital affairs, he has solved a very tough murder case before the police. He was then chosen to be certified as a 'Super High School Level Detective', but since he solved the murder case by luck, Shuuichi believes he doesn't deserve the title. His timid manner of speech stands out among detectives, but his insight and drive to take action is impressive to many people.
Tsumugi Shirogane is a popular cosplayer that is so renowned that she receives corporate sponsors. Although she is known for wearing costumes to conventions, she is more passionate about making them. She hates people trying to use her to stand out at conventions, bringing it upon herself to wear her own costumes to prevent this. Although she is a quiet and kind honor student, she is fiercely passionate about her work. When deep in thought, she is so immersed in her thinking that she ignores anyone trying to interrupt her.
The last character with new details in Monosuke, one of the Monokumas. He speaks in a Kansai dialect and is considered the most composed of the Monokumas. He shows a positive attitude even when the Monokumas argue amongst each other, saying things like "These Monokumas sure give off negative vibes".

New details on the Class Trial mini-games players can enjoy are out now. The mini-games are titled Scrum Debates and Theoretical Arms. Scrum Debates are triggered when the opinion of class trail participants diverges. These debates differ from normal in that you will match each other's topics by figuring the opponents's topics and having a character on your side with the same topic speak. Your goal is to match all the topics while the opponent goes around.
The second mini-game is Theoretical Arms, triggered when an opponent goes into a frenzy and starts refusing to listen to the opinions of others. In this one on one debate you can shut down the opponent's theory by shooting at his or her remarks while matching the rhythm.
Finishing off Spike Chunsoft's huge announcement is some new info on the limited edition anime, Super Danganronpa 2.5 Nagito Komaeda and the Destroyer of the World. The anime focuses on the title character, Nagito Komaeda an ordinary young man who is uncomfortable being the protagonist of the story and feel's that his special abilities get in the way of achieving happiness. While observing his classmates, he comes to the conclusion that a modest lifestyle will lead to a happy life and makes impassioned speech to fellow student Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu who is in the same year as him. However, one day a mysterious boy calling himself "Destroyer of the World" begins to tear Komeada's life apart.
New Danganronpa V3: Everyone's New Semester of Killing is out in Japan on January 12th for PS4 and Vita.
