Nippon Ichi Software recently revealed that their action RPG, The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2, will launch in Japan in winter 2017. The reveal was made in Dengeki PlayStation.

For those who didn't play the first entry, you're fine! This story is entirely separate from its predecessor. There will be some similarities to the first's fast-paced combat system, but in a good way, as the developers are trying to make the gameplay "more comfortable, concise, and pleasant".

The story follows the exploits of two sisters in a world where an anti-witch organization keeps the peace against witches. One of the sisters is Cerca, who recently awakened as a witch after she contracted the "Witch's Disease", giving her the power to summon a powerful entity called the Hundred Knight to fight at her command. The other sister, Amalie, is part of an anti-witch organization who ends up deceiving the organization after her sister becomes a witch—she's working against them from the inside. Cerca and Amalie lost their family to witches, so it goes without saying that there's going to be some uncomfortable moments between those two. To further add to the originality of The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2, Cerca will have a familiar: a feminine crow who can transform into a housekeeping butler.

It's unclear if The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 will ever make it West, but NIS America did localize both the PS3, and the enhanced PS4 version of the first one, so it seems likely. We'll keep you updated!
