Persona 5 Codenames, Online Features Revealed, Along With New Trailers
Team up with fellow players for in-game benefits. 09.04.16 - 2:03 PM The latest Weekly Famitsu issue revealed the first batch of Persona 5's online features. Players are provided with the option to join the Phantom Thieves Alliance, a network within Persona 5 that matches online players together. Once you are part of the alliance you become the recipient of several benefits. Battles are one of the areas where alliance members can assist you. If a party member is knocked out, they may be taken hostage and enemies will make demands for items or negotiate with you. If both are refused, your ally will be unable to battle, However, if you're part of the alliance, fellow players can help you out. During dungeon exploration, your Alertness Meter will increase if detected by enemies before striking them, while it decreases if you successfully perform a surprise attack. Alliance membership will prevent your Alertness Meter from rising even if detected by enemies. There are alliance membership benefits outside of dungeons as well. Online players will be able to see which after-school activities other players did that day. In addition, there is a survey feature that shows the answer percentage for in class questions (pictured above). Considering the anticipation for Persona 5, it's likely there will be plenty of players to team up with. Altus also unveiled the code names for the Phantom Thieves (main characters) and we've listed them below.
Atlus has also released two more trailers for Persona 5, one of them being a character trailer for Haru Okumura, the daughter of a fast food company CEO. The brief clip shows a few cutscenes and her All-Out Attack. See it below. The second trailer showcases another way for the protagonist to spend his free time, public bathing. Persona 5 comes out in Japan on September 15th for PS4 & PS3. The international release will be on February 14th, 2017. Stay tuned to RPGFan for more updates.
