Dragon Quest XI's Scenario is Almost Complete
The multi-platform JRPG will also have a casino! 09.01.16 - 3:02 AM Last week at CEDEC 2016, Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii and producer Yosuke Saito hosted a panel about the legendary JRPG series that culminated in with a few tidbits of information in regards to the development of the upcoming Dragon Quest XI. While no release window was given for the game, Horii-san did share that the scenario for the game was almost complete and that the team was now implementing the maps and ironing out details. The team is also checking the response of the 3D display of the 3DS and the battle system on PlayStation 4. It was also revelaed that game will include a casino, and that the Spell of Restoration will return in some form. For the uninitiated, the Spell of Restoration is the password system used to save player progress in Dragon Quest I and II. It was made obsolete by the use of battery backup in Dragon Quest III. But we have no idea what the Spell of Restoration will do in DQ XI, and Horii-san urged fans to look forward to further information in the months ahead. Dragon Quest XI will be released for PS4, 3DS and was recently confirmed to also be in development for the Nintendo NX. |
