Nier: Automata Producer Considering Demo; No Current Plans for Xbox One, NX Ports
Look forward to Tokyo Game Show. 08.20.16 - 7:50 PM Nier:Automata producer Yosuke Saito revealed in an interview with Famitsu that Square Enix is considering releasing a demo for the game ahead of it's early 2017 release. During the interview, Saito discussed a few details on how he wanted the demo to be like, saying that he wanted players to have a longer, more fulfilling experience with the demo clocking in around 30-40 minutes instead of the usual 10-20. For a game of this scale, a demo similar to Final Fantasy XV's Episode Duscae in terms of length would be ideal. When asked about Nier:Automata's plans for this year's upcoming Tokyo Game Show, Saito said "While we've focused on showing action up until now, I think we'll be able to debut a trailer that gives off an RPG-like impression, so please look forward to it". Seems like we can look forward to seeing a glimpse of Nier: Automata's story this September. Saito also revealed that there are no current plans to release Nier:Automata on Xbox One and Nintendo's upcoming NX. However, if the game becomes a worldwide success, it's possible for it to happen. Saito also confirmed that a Steam release was planned from the beginning of Nier:Automata's development. The PC version will also be developed by Platinum Games, making it likely that it will release close to, if not alongside the PS4 version. Nier:Automata is scheduled for an early 2017 release on PS4 and PC. Stay tuned to RPGFan for more updates.
