This Oculus Rift parody is on the nose!

Comedy comes easy to Ubisoft and South Park Digital Studios; South Park: The Stick of Truth is a hilarious and excellent RPG, and while we wait for the followup South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Ubisoft has released a new promotional video for the upcoming game parodying the Oculus Rift.

The video feature a device called the "Nosulus Rift", a gaming peripheral that can be placed over the player's nose allowing them to smell the farts featured in South Park: The Fractured But Whole. As explained by Ubisoft San Francisco senior producer Jason Schroder:

"In South Park: The Fractured But Whole, you are playing the new kid in town, the hero and one of your special abilities is really the power of your ass...The only way to really help people experience that strength is to really make sure that they can feel it, and that means getting really close."

To create this most noble of naval devices, Ubisoft teamed up with Japanese design consultant Nakata Tuobashi and "Nose" Jurgen Bischoff to create the device. Before they were able to finally concoct the "Fartgrance" built into the unit, Bischoff had to apparently smell over a thousand farts from various butts.

While the device is a magnificent gag, it does actually exist, and for those in Germany and curious about its "Fartgrance", the Nosulus Rift will be usable at Gamescom 2016.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on December 6.
