The Longest Five Minutes Getting Localized for 2017
They've done the near impossible and made an original concept out of amnesia! 08.06.16 - 2:21 PM Good news, fans of original ideas! NIS America is localizing the adventure RPG The Longest Five Minutes in North America and Europe for PS Vita and PC via Steam. The game — which recently arrived in Japan — was co-developed by Nippon Ichi Software and Syrupo-DX. The Longest Five Minutes is presented in a traditional 8-bit RPG style, so if you miss the aesthetic of RPGs of yore, keep this on your radar. The Longest Five Minutes starts out with the main character up against the big bad (the Overlord), but suddenly loses all his memories of how he got there, and what he's supposed to do. With the help of your party members, and the taunts of the Overlord, you piece together your memories, making you remember your finishing moves and your adventure's purpose. The game goes back and forth between your five-minute confrontation with the Overlord, and your past memories, which you must play through, traversing 8-bit landscapes, and talking to the world's inhabitants. The outcome of those memories affect your party in their battle against the Overlord. Check out the teaser trailer below to get a sense of the game's style. I'm thrilled that the developers figured out a way to breathe new life into amnesia stories. This looks incredibly creative! The Longest Five Minutes comes out for PS Vita and PC via Steam in North America and Europe in 2017.
