Square Enix Announces Final Fantasy XV Season Pass
Some people are mad, but I would totally pay for chocobo ranching DLC.

On August 2nd Square Enix made a surprise announcement of a season pass for Final Fantasy XV DLC by unceremoniously listing the bundle on the North American and Japanese PlayStation Stores. While the North American store's description is largely unhelpful, translation of the Japanese listing reveals six DLC packs. They are:

  1. Booster Pack
  2. Episode Gladiolus
  3. Holiday Pack
  4. Episode Ignis
  5. Episode Prompto
  6. Expansion Pack

One of these packs includes a new mode, and the mention of a PlayStation Plus subscription requirement has raised speculation that this mode could involve online multiplayer. The game's director Hajime Tabata has gone on record saying that the DLC plans are "pretty much finalized" and include "additional story content, costumes, as well as things that don't fall into those categories that fans will be excited to see."

Pre-orders for a "Digital Premium Edition" are currently available on the North American store for $84.99, with a Season Pass Upgrade available to those who pre-orded without the pass. In Japan the pass will cost ¥2700 or approximately $26.66. There has not been any word from Square Enix whether other special edition copies of the game will include all the DLC. Final Fantasy XV comes out on PS4 and XB1 worldwide on September 30.
