Dragon Quest of the Stars Soars Past 6 Million Downloads
Yet another mobile phenomenon not coming to the US.

Square Enix has announced that the total number of downloads on Android and iOS for Dragon Quest of the Stars has surpassed six million. This F2P title is most similar in style and gameplay to Dragon Quest IX. The success of this game may be hard for any non-Japanese gamer to swallow, as it is just another reminder of how unwilling Square is to bring DQ titles to the West (though, fortunately, the impending release of Dragon Quest VII and Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS may indicate a change). For all of those lucky enough to play the game, Square Enix is providing free gems and bonus items for the first half of January.
