Square Enix has released a ton of new information about their new block-building RPG, Dragon Quest Builders. Towns in the game will be the hero's bases of operation. You'll gain experience and level up by constructing buildings. Buildings must be at least two blocks high, they need lighting (torches) and a door. As you continue to build you'll unlock more recipes for items that can be placed throughout the village.
There is something called the "Camp Gauge" that levels up as you place unique items so you are encouraged to use everything at your disposal. Villagers will give you quests and completing them will earn you recipes and materials. They'll also defend the town when besieged by monsters.

Dragon Quest Builders is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on January 28th.
