Rhythm Encounter 23 - Those Who Fight
In which we fight to make the world a more musical place.
10.17.15 - 8:52 PM
The music crew is back on track with a bang! Today, we start a three-part miniseries on everyone's favorite type of RPG music: battle themes. We're facing off against soldiers, monsters, and even airships as we fight to bring you some of the best and most interesting regular battle music out there. Don't forget to don your best musical equipment as we wade into the field of fight tunes!
Special Note: As we've been reorganizing things on the podcast a little, the main part of this episode was recorded before episode 22.9. You may hear anticipatory references to events that have already happened and were discussed on the previous episode. Rest assured, you haven't fallen into a time paradox. We're just a little out of sync!
Rhythm Encounter presents a trio of episodes devoted to battle music and we're kicking things off with regular battle themes! We've got some things old and some things new, some things well known and others more obscure. So join us for an hour or two of the music we love to fight bad guys and the occasional woodland creature with.
Editor's Note: Four months ago, the video game music world lost Kirill Pokrovsky, who was known for his work on the Divinity series. Though we are horribly late in expressing our sadness over this loss, we wanted to provide a humble tribute to the man behind some truly distinct and beautiful music. Click here to watch a livestream of Pokrovsky performing music from the series!
