Final Fantasy XV Adds Real-Time Weapon Switching in Combat

Square Enix is changing the automatic weapon switching in Final Fantasy XV to real-time switching. Players will now assign the weapons to the four directional buttons and be able to switch between them on the fly.
Director, Hajime Tabata, announced this on FF XV's official forum.
The change was implemented to give players more direct control over their combos and prevent unintentional switches. You will be able to change from weapon to weapon in the middle of consecutive attacks. Special moves like "Counter" and "Raid" will also allow you to choose your preferred weapon.
You'll be able to try your hand at the Final Fantasy XV battle system when the game releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016.
