Nomura Explains Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Title Math
It's fine. Seriously. No trouble here. 09.24.15 - 3:17 AM Final [fahyn-l] adjective: Prologue [proh-lawg] noun: Contradictions? What a great start! Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, yet another magic brain child of SquareEnix and Tetsuya Nomura. KHHD2.8FCP (this looks like a serial number) is expected to be a compilation of:
Plus KH: Super Hyper Turbo Champion Edition EX Plus Alpha 3 First Last Strike (this isn't real). Nomura discussed his take on the title with Famicom. "This Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance compilation follows the previously HD work 2.5...and is worthy as taking its place as 2.6." He feels that the absence of Sora in the prequels/spinoffs are considered zero (I guess because the main progression of Kingdom Hearts is based on Sora). "Because Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep is 0.1, this is how the 0.2 came to be put in the latest Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep. So here's the math: KH3D HD remaster (2.6 because it occurs after KH2, and 2.5 is the remaster of KH2) + KH χ "Back Cover" (0.0 as it is Sora-less backstory?) + KH BbyS "A Fragmentary Passage" (0.2 because it proceeds the first BbyS) = KHHD Final Chapter Prologue (2.8). I'm going to guess, that this will be the last release of content before Kingdom Hearts 3. Hence the "Final" (last one) "Chapter" (new lore) "Prologue" (before KH3). When you think about it, games that are in development take certain phases and are labeled numerically. Maybe Nomura used that idea to help keep up with all of the content they have generated, as this will be the 13th release of canon Kingdom Hearts content. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue has no release date yet, but will be available on PlayStation 4.
