Shuichi Kobayashi, the producer for Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, has told Famitsu that Square Enix plans to bring the PSP version of Star Ocean: Second Evolution to both the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. Kobayashi told the Japanese gaming news outlet that the release is "not far off," but gave no further specifics. It is unclear whether there will be any other updates to the game.
Star Ocean: Second Evolution was originally released as Star Ocean: The Second Story on the PlayStation 1, and many consider it the series' zenith. While a port could certainly raise the profile of the Star Ocean franchise ahead of Integrity and Faithlessness' release, it will also serve as a reminder of the series' heyday. Hopefully the new game lives up to its predecessor.
