It's not that kind of game, get your mind out of the gutter.

The Repopulation is a sci-fi MMORPG emphasizing player choice and sandbox world design. It is set on an alien world where humanity has fled to attempt another shot survival. However, our warlike nature gets the better of us and the survivors soon split into two competing factions vying for control of the planet Rhyldan. The developers say they wanted to capture the social aspects of Star Wars Galaxies and Ultima Online while incorporating newer functions. Create your survivor, pick a side, and immerse yourself in this sci-fi adventure.

The Repopulation is built around player choice, which is almost overwhelming in its options. Players can choose traditional or action combat, PvP or PvE, or even whether to engage in combat at all. There seems to be plenty to occupy crafters, traders, and even entertainers. There are no levels or classes, interestingly; instead progression occurs through improving skills and upgrading equipment. Not only can equipment be crafted, but it also has slots for CPU units that you can also buy or make.

Aside from quests, a big part of the combat revolves around the siege process for attacking a city. The process is long, with various stages spread out over three days. It proceeds in stages to allow for defending cities to react, particularly because players may be operating in vastly different time zones. I won't go into too much detail, but sieges can involve dozens of players in extended, coordinated attacks. The nice thing is that even though the entire process takes a very long time, each stage is only active for a couple hours at most, hopefully making them manageable for busy people.

Though the game will eventually be free to play, the sheer depth and choice means it will probably not suit the casual player. However, those who can make the investment should find plenty of ways to lose themselves. The Repopulation is currently on early access and available on the game's website.
