Developer nWay is seeking to break into the crowded mobile space with its new action-RPG ChronoBlade. Already live in Korea, ChronoBlade plays like a side-scrolling beat-em-up with more complicated combat. Instead of just mashing the attack button, players must balance light and heavy hits, unique skills, and dodges. The game is split into 5 worlds with a multitude of short stages in each, perfect for mobile gaming on the go. Common for these types of games are three distinct class types that determine one's attacks, equipment, and skills.

The story in simple, but involves characters coming together across differently themed universes to combat a common threat. Universes include steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, etc. From what I saw, many stages involve more than just beating all enemies on stage. For example, in one I had to fire rockets from the deck of a an airship while destroying incoming missiles before they bored into my hull. It was a welcome break from crushing the enemy of the week.

ChronoBlade also sports extensive mobile elements including co-op worlds and a PvP mode that has been tweaked to play more like a fighting game. The game is free-to-play, so it has everything you would expect from that model, both good and bad. nWay promised that it will come to Western iOS and Android devices soon.
