Do you dare to venture into the Heart of Thorns?

ArenaNet celebrates its third anniversary of the launch of Guild Wars 2 by announcing that the much anticipated expansion, Heart of Thorns, finally has a set release date for October 23rd, 2015. Announcing the date before their press conference at PAX tomorrow, ArenaNet hopes you will join them tomorrow as they unveil the all-new challenging group content coming to Heart of Thorns, as well as the roadmap for the core game.
The conference starts at August 29th at 10:30 AM PDT in the PAX Prime Hydra Theater. If you can't attend in person, you can hop on over to their Twitch channel and watch the livestream of all the announcements.
In case you missed it, the second beta weekend event starts next Friday, September 4th for all fans that have per-purchased the expansion. During this beta weekend you will be able to play on more of the new map Verdant Brink, as well as mess around with the announced specializations for each class. This entails the Chronomancer (Mesmer), Dragon Hunter (Guardian), Tempest (Elementalist), Reaper (Necromancer), as well as the three recently announced Herald (Revenant), Berserker (Warrior) and Daredevil (Thief). Sorry, Engineers and Rangers, you'll have to wait a bit longer for your announcements. You will also be able to play on the new PvP mode Stronghold even if you are not in the beta, so log in and check it out if you own a Guild Wars 2 account.
