Final Fantasy XIV's Second Expansion Already In the Works
New Gold Saucer attractions in 3.1 as well.

Thanks to a recent Nova Crystallis interview from Gamescom 2015, director and producer of Final Fantasy XIV Naoki Yoshida confirmed that his team is already working on the second expansion for Final Fantasy XIV. Apparently all the first major decisions have already been made, and they are currently working on the story board for the 4.0 opening scene. That's some pretty amazing dedication knowing that Heavensward only recently came out, and patch 3.1 is right around the corner.

Speaking of patch 3.1, during this interview Yoshi-P spilled the beans on a new feature coming in the patch. In patch 3.1 the Gold Saucer will be receiving a new attraction that rivals Triple Triad and Chocobo Racing. Yoshi-P and his team wanted to add a mini game in 3.0 where you flew though rings on your flying mount in a time trial to receive some prizes, but there just wasn't enough time and resources to get it done. However now the level design team is working on finalizing it. Could the two be linked? Well just have to wait a bit longer to find out.

Finally the interview also touched on a much hated part of the new expansion, the very evil moogle quests. Unfortunately, Heavensward is plagued by a very grindy quest system, and this could be no more evident then when a player enters the Churning Mists. The minute you do, you are doomed to over 50 mundane quests given out by some adorable moogles. How the same moogle can get lost seconds after you find him is beyond me, but they all manged to pull it off. Thankfully Yoshi-P and his team are working to make sure that this doesn't happen again. They want to revamp the quests to allow for more variety, and this will start happening in future 3.0 patches . All I know is if I ever see another moogle with a question mark above his head I might scream.
