Looks like Sega may have made the right call when they acquired Atlus, as the Persona series just passed six million in total series sales.
From Sega's financial report:
In the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016, the Group will launch new titles mainly for the Group’s mainstay IP including ‘Persona5‘ which will be the latest title from the Persona series boasting over 6 million total copies sold along with implementing transitions of IP for packaged games such as ‘Total War‘ series into digital games mainly in overseas.
The report goes on to say that Persona 4 Arena Ultimax sold 280,000 copies across Japan, the US and Europe. Perhaps the most interesting piece in the report is the brief mention that Persona 5 is expected to release before March 31st, 2016. That should have everyone pretty dang excited!
Persona 4: Dancing All Night for Playstation Vita and Persona 5 for Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 are both due later this year. Check back with us for more info as we get it!
