I'd buy that for a dollar, but now I don't have to!

Kaga Shouzou, the creator of Fire Emblem, is currently working on a new SRPG title using the doujin software SRPG Studio, and the game will be free of charge when it's finally complete.

Fire Emblem Kaga Shouzou

Shouzou's team consists of ten members, and they might be able to get a "wonderful artist" to help at some point down the line. The team is currently looking for additional developers to help with asset building for the new title.

Shouzou left Intelligent Systems, the developer of the Fire Emblem series, to create Tear Ring Saga for publisher Enterbrain. Nintendo sued Enterbrain back in 2001, claiming the game was an infringement upon their copyrights. Enterbrain was eventually forced to pay damages to Nintendo, though Tear Ring Saga was never taken off of store shelves.
