To celebrate his birthday, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn producer and director Naoki Yoshida released a heartfelt message to the game's fans along with several screenshots from the upcoming Heavensward expansion. Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward will have many new features, but these screenshots focus on the expansive landscape that one might see on the backs of a noble steed like the flying fat chocobo.
Thank you very much for all your comments wishing me a happy birthday! To receive such well-wishings from you all is truly an honor as both a game developer and an MMORPG manager.
Even on my birthday I haven’t been at home eating cake; I’m currently being chased for the final checks for the master version of Heavensward!

The reference to "you" guys refers to a recent gaff on the forums where Yoshida accidentally wrote "I love guys," much to the amusement of the game's players.
