The first trailer showing gameplay from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been unveiled. For many fans, this game's release is one of the most highly anticipated moments of the year. For those unfamiliar with the series but have heard of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (because, well, who hasn't?), and are interesting in becoming Geralt of Rivia, the developers have released a quick desciption of the game along with the trailer:

"In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt you become Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer for hire. You take on the greatest contract of your life — tracking down the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world. Your journey will take you across the Northern Realms, a vast continent filled with merchant cities, mysterious islands, dangerous mountain passes, and forgotten caverns to explore. Hundreds of armor and weapon upgrades await you, with lethal sword and magic skills at your disposal."

Way back when The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was released, it was was given with the REDkit, a developer's tool kit that allowed players to create mods to shape the world they were living in. The original REDkit came with some interesting tools, but the modding never reaching the epic, Skyrim proportions that some players thought it could have have.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will have its own, brand-new set of tools and the developers are currently working on making that devkit a little more user-friendly, according to Visual Effects Artist José Teixeira.

"We’re working on it. During the development of the game we had to create many new things, many tools, and at this moment, this software, the REDKit, our REDEngine, is good but it’s complicated to use. It’s complicated because many new things were made very fast and it’s hard to use. Now we’re working to make it easier for the public, and then we will release it. We want to give as much freedom as possible so that you can do everything you want."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be launched across the world on May 19th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
