No, Mobius does not mean "mobile."
04.03.15 - 4:07 PM

A recent Square Enix livestream focused on the upcoming mobile entry to the Final Fantasy franchise. Originally called Mevius Final Fantasy, the company announced an official name change to Mobius Final Fantasy. The company did not give a reason for the change, but it likely refers to the Mobius Strip.

Company officials demonstrated how players would use the touch screen to control Wal, the protagonist, in battle. They also cover some choice miscellaneous tidbits. Wal is voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki; the heroine, Sarah Lotte Cornelia, is voiced by Yumi Hara; and Mog the Moogle is voiced by Misaki Kuno. Mitsuto Suzuki composed the background battle music, titled "Warrior of Light." The presenters also promised an amount of content, including side quests, that would rival multiple console games and would expand with regular post-release updates. Finally, they showed how the character design of the first job class, the Onion Swordsman, had been altered to expose less skin. Check it out below.

Mobius Final Fantasy comes out in Japan this Spring on iOS and Android devices.
